Huntersville has no immediate plans for former HPD headquarters - The Lake Norman Citizen
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C -- While Walmart has plans to house temporary employment services in the former medical building most recently used as detective offices by the Huntersville Police Department, questions remain concerning the future of the former police headquarters next door.
When the HPD relocated last summer to a sprawling, 26,000-square-foot facility off Julian Clark Avenue in The Park-Huntersville, the 15-year-old former station - an 8,400-square-foot brick building just west of the Gilead Road/N.C. 115 intersection - suddenly became a rare commodity: town-owned space without a designated use.
